Marrow Chutney Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg Marrow, peeled and deseeded
  • 225g Shallots, sliced
  • 225g Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 225g Sultanas
  • 2cm piece of Ginger, finely chopped
  • 225g Demerara sugar
  • 850ml Malt vinegar
  • 12 Black peppercorns

How To Make Marrow Chutney

  1. Preparation: Cut the marrow into small pieces and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of salt over them, cover, and let it sit for 12 hours.

  3. Spice Bag: Place the black peppercorns in a muslin cloth or a small tea strainer and add it to the saucepan.
